Effective January 1, 2008, HPS will begin covering the smoking cessation drug
Chantix. HPS will cover
Chantix for a three month period and it will be covered as a third-tier drug. Athens Regional Health Services members will be required to participate in the ARMC smoking cessation class in order to have coverage for
Chantix.

Sandy Wells was selected as Athens Regional Heath Services 2007
Values Award winner in the category of Continuous Improvement. Sandy has been a Health Plan Select employee since September 2001. During her tenure she has been the Office Receptionist, Office Coordinator, Underwriter and is currently the health plan’s Senior Underwriter. In addition to her exemplary underwriting work, Sandy has been
instrumental in designing the health plan’s new website and also instituting a department wide document imaging program. Sandy is an exemplary employee and her efforts to reach out and find better ways to service customers make her an outstanding selection for the health system’s 2007 Continuous Improvement Values Award.
