In the midst of mental, physical, emotional and behavioral mountains, the powerful connection between horses and people has been proven to heal.
That’s why it is an honor for us at Health Plan Select to have the pleasure of sponsoring two horses, Elph and Spirit, used in a therapeutic riding program through Reins of Life.
Elph and Spirit have a brilliant way of rehabilitating emotional, physical and mental wholeness by offering a sense of freedom and independence.
The impact of these horses in children’s lives is a work that can’t be obtained in a clinical environment. Hippotherapy and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy are two of several programs at Reins of Life.

Health Plan Select’s Claims Department and Member Services Department received the highest possible rating on the Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey. Health Plan Select distributed surveys to 1,100 plan members to determine their views on the service delivered by these departments. We consistently received exemplary scores for customer service and claims processing.
The fifth annual In Their Shoes walk was held on November 20, 2010. The event is a 13.1-mile, one-day walk to benefit all cancer patients at the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support at Athens Regional Medical Center. Some of the staff wore their pink in support of the cause. Health Plan Select staff that participated in the walk were Angie Rousey, Fay Davis and Josh Martin.
